I love the concepts/controls of this camera,...... but only 720p video? they can do better than that ........ I 'spose they did this deliberately, so the next one with the 1080p will be the "upgrade" model in 6 months.......

Finally some images from the x100, I think its going to have the usual issues in night colour shots, and some auto white balance issues, great for black and white, probably needs an orange filter for more punch. Love the fact the shutter is in the lens, has a gentle shutter tick just like the the Mamiya 7
Better resolution than the Leica M8 but at the sacrifice of one lens, a second hand M8 is still very attractive

Don't really see the better resolution compared to the M8, but it does look pretty decent. Seems like a great second digital body in addition to the M8, though to be fair it's still unclear which one would be the primary and which one the backup...

Those B&W's they posted sure are soft and flat! Hopefully the RAW files won't look like this.

yeah, the jpg engine doesn't seem to be especially good, with the in-camera b&w even worse. however, the lens seems to be ok, for example:

Who really cares? No one is going to be using this for filming TV episodes. Do you really need to upload youtube clips of cat tricks and kids playing at 1080p? It's a still camera, I wouldn't even cry if it had no video capabilities. 720p is more than sufficient should I ever feel like capturing a quick moving clip.
