Financial Woes: Nikon

Canon, Nikon and Olympus are imaging equipment manufacturers, meaning many other areas far beyond traditional "cameras". I am uncertain of % "camera division" revenue, but my guess is that they would do fine without cameras. Just the same for Zeiss. Someone with facts would be much appreciated.

That is an interesting point. I knew Nikon, Zeiss, Olympus, and Leica all as microscope manufacturers long before I knew anything much about their cameras.

Zeiss and Leica make beautiful scopes by the way... and the Olympus ones are no slouches either. Nikons are probably good too, never used one.
