Ever since I got my latest Leica M6 with a dual range 50mm Summicron F2, I've been having a hard time finding the aperture ring on the lens when it's up to my eye. :bang: Is this a common complaint?
Does anyone make a supplementary ring for this? I notice that there was a tab aid ring made for the 35mm Summicron F2 ring. Any others?

Thanx.

No, sorry havent had that problem, but i have an M3 so i dont set exposure with the camera up to my eye

I've never had the problem of using the aperture of a rigid Summicron (same as the Dual Range) when the camera was up to my eye on an M8 or M9. On all the later 50 'Crons I've handled I think the aperture ring or tabs or ears are the same size or nearly exactly the same as the DR and Rigid. With the 12585 hood on, it got a little tighter but I could still use it.

I guess it just takes practice, but I've got the hood attached and I'm always fumbling for the 2 ridged elevated parts of the aperture ring and almost always end up pulling the camera away from my eye and down to engage them, then back up again. I feel like I'm focusing a Speed Graphic! BTW, the ring is a bit stiff, but not terribly.
