Perhaps it would help if you could add a few more details to your inquiry? For example, are you talking about pouches for storing a lens or pouches for carrying a lens? And when you say it would be for a Leica M lens, are you referring to any particular lenses in Leica's line-up? I just thought that some of those sorts of details might better trigger responses. And, in fact, I have some thoughts depending upon what you're looking for in a pouch or looking to do with a pouch.

I'm looking for pouches to store Leica M lenses in a camera case/bag. Focal length: 21mm to 50mm.

i don't use pouches if i'm using a camera bag.
and if i'm using a non camera bag then i use inserts, like the domke ones.
the best and cheapest holders for use in a bag are the neoprene beer/glass holders bought at most camping or department stores.
they work well.

Yep, gotta second Joe's suggestion here. That's what I use for a pouch inside a camera case. Those neoprene beer cozies are cheap, thin and fit perfectly. Note that I'm referring to the neoprene ones not the larger, thicker foam rubber ones (which also work but are too large for my purposes). FYI, the neoprene ones can also be found on the net for not much dinero.

The neoprene holder I use is the very thin, collapsible kind. In my experience at least, that fits in the camera case better than the thicker neoprene case zen-shooter is showing above. The kind I prefer is the "collapsible drink holder" shown on the page zen-shooter has linked to above under "neoprene drink holder as cushion." I haven't tried the chalk bag but that sounds interesting. Is it padded at all?

Old flannel sheet or shirt cut and sewn to make small bags.

I've never used a lens pouch, ever. I wish they would make them optional and cut the prices of the lens. All my camera bags have padded lens compartments.

I have a couple of old cotton bank bags that I use if two of my lenses have to share the same compartment. Some people use socks. But the neoprene beer holder is the best idea I've heard of in a while, dual use, like it.

Thanks for the suggestion Joe. I found some in my local dollar store and they work very well with my CV lenses in a LowePro Omni Sport bag.back alley said:

so far, even with the 50/1.4 lux v2 with reversed hood, the digital wintech ebay ones have worked well for me in the small C1 size. I might try a larger one from these folks but the C1s hold almost any RF lens.

My choice for RF lenses, bodies, accessories, backup hdds, everything are LowePro Terraclime!
This bags are terrific!
Due to the system, I have set up, my pouches are all interchangable.
for my most lenses, I use size "30" - from the tiny 15mm Heliar to a whopping 90 Cron, all lenses fit into this size!
For a 135 Telyt, I use a size "40", this also fits a Leica M body for travelling, an external harddrive or anything else you can come up with.
The pouches have a very clever strap/ hook system and can be rolled and closed for smaller objects and loosely closed for bigger items.
The strap can be used as a belt holder, so on location, I wear these pouches on my belt for quick access.
The bigger bags (size "40") have fitted a slim, black, logo free Nikon SLR neck strap (can't remember the article no now).
This way, I can wear this bag cross body and have for example personal valuables (wallet, phone, keys, etc) or any second lens while walking around directly on the body - no need for any additional bag!
I love these bags - they are extremely durable, very well made, can be machine washed, have a nice "anti scratch" inside material and a tough outside material (I prefer black).
Only one catch, this system brings with it - they are quite expensive (smallest size I have about 8 EUR, my most used size - "30" about 12 EUR and the bigger but still compact sized size 40 almost 20 EUR).
They have also a biggest size of the size of a small messenger bag, which I also got at some point. I don't use it tough.

I use old Contax G system leather lens pouches, nice little pull cord to close them and very soft. No bulk either.
You can find them on eBay but I notice Ffordes have a new one for sale right now for a mere £5.

FWIW I like the original Leica cases for best protection in travel luggage - they 'suspend' the lens at both bayonet and filter mounts in a dense 'sorbo' rubber protecting the vital parts against impact. I'm trying to find one for my 28 2.8 ASPH if anyone has a spare. But, for day pack use they are too slow and bulky, so I have some nice old draw string Nikon pouches, which are slightly padded and lined on the inside. If I need speed, then just end caps sitting in the Billingham compartments. I do like the neoprene can holder idea though, and will definately try those when I can find some.
