The more time I spend with my M8, the better I feel about it.

By the way, my IR filters arrived from Leica in a little over 2 weeks, E60 and E39. They really do make a big difference, and I highly recommend using them.

Dave - did you get outside with your new M8 this weekend?... the weather and light was glorious... really looking forward to some pics... especially interested in how the 21 Biogon performs on the M8...

Didn't get a chance to get "outside" but I do have, at least, one pic right now - I took a walk down to Riverdale Farm yesterday and only spent 1/2 hour wandering - here's a shot @ ISO640 - converted in Lightroom "as is" (that is, I didn't play with anything in LR) - the B&W version is my conversion in Photoshop.

Shot with the 21mm @ f2.8 - 1/11 s shutter speed in the barn

thanks dave - wow - 1/11 of a second - still looks sharp at this size... the tonality of the B&W is fantastic... and it handles the highlights very well... esp on the top right of the frame near the chalkboard, perhaps a little bit blown out but i imagine it's quite a bit better than my D200...

how do you find the 21 biogon? i use to own the CV which was fantastic, except for the distortion.. found that it was too much and made it basically a 24/5mm after cropping.. ended up replacing it with the 28/3.5 CV which is plenty wide for me... the 21 seems to be the idea, wide-normal on a M8...

Forgot to ask, is the 21mm coded and used with an IR/UV cut filter?

The 21mm was not coded nor was it using the UV/IR cut filter.
I'm still waiting on my filters (bought 2 from Gid here on the forum and waiting on 2 more Leica freebies).

The only lens I seem to have issues with getting to 'click' into place is the CV 15mm on the "first version" Voigtlander LTM-M adapters. Other than that, all my lenses can mount on the M8 - I think the m-mount "eases up" over time as well....

I was refering to back-focus issues or a general softness of some lenses. Apologies for the confusion. If you chase the link, you will find that the 21 ZM and 35 Cron Asph were huge disappointments, while the 25 ZM, 28 Cron Asph, and 35 ZM were all tack sharp...

No worries Jeff - I haven't seen any back-focus with my 35 cron ASPH; nor the 50mm pre-ASPH lux or the 21mm for that matter.

It is a bit harder to focus with the M8 only because the viewfinder is now 0.68 rather than 0.72 and, I don't think, the viewfinder can take those HK 1.25x magnification lenses.....

It does take the 1.25x adapters. I use one..
