Hi Folks,

Finished assignment work with The Guardian (UK) and Time in Syria and I have decided to stay on.

I have relaunched my Syria funding campaign and I was hoping you would be so kind as to share it on your facebook.

I am off to Aleppo in coming day so your patience with any responses is appreciated!

The X100's are holding up swell.

For those that contributed prior to departure (ray, christian etc) I thank you and you will both get a little extra something😉

Congrats, John! I admire you for your courage!

I've just made my modest contribution to your endeavor. Return well.

Back across late today so forgive any delays in the thank you. I am beyond thankful and honored to be able to continue this work.

Fun would be very difficult to find here. Thank you for the well wishes though.

PKR - dealin with a laptop that has taken some masonry direct to the jugular. Will post when I sort out the MacBook situation.

Article was written by my friend, Martin Chulov, the middle east chief for The Guardian. I was on for the Guardian, with Martin, for photographs. More will run.

We were quite deep into Syria and heard way too many stories like this. It was this mans story that made me decide to stay. What the mainstream press is reporting is so out of touch with what I am seeing it makes my head spin!

Martin is now home with his family in Beirut.

I will keep it flowing as much a possible. Sorting some details in southern Turkey right now and back to work in coming days.

John, thank you for sharing your work here while working under such difficult and dangerous circumstances. What an article in the Guardian! As Keith said, gut-wrenching.
Having been through what you've witnessed, you are a prime candidate for PTSD. Watch out for the signs, ask your friends to watch out for you, and take care of yourself.
Congratulations on such excellent work.
Kind regards,

You are 100% correct Lynn. PTSD and I have a working agreement... I keep up the regime of meds and he mostly leaves me alone.

I'd like to add my admiration for what you are doing. Keep yourself safe–much respect.

My prayers are with you and the people of Syria.

Mark

Thank you Mark. It must be said, I have choices here. I can leave. Most here are stuck. No choices. Please put all the power of prayer to work for them.
