Firmware Update Ver.1.30 allows for the new WIDE CONVERSION LENS WCL-X100 plus a couple minor tweaks. I doubt that 28mm vs. 35mm is very interesting to me, but I updated anyway, just to remain current. It went well, except . . .
The settings had to be reset, as usual.
The counter went back to zero.
In an attempt to avoid this I used a different SD card to update and then put my normal SD card back in the camera afterword. It didn't make any difference. This never happened with Nikon, but is apparently what to expect with Fuji. I can live with it since Fuji seems to really support improvements to their firmware.

Dick - you need to keep a photo on your original card. Once you have updated put the original back in and take another photo - the counter will carry on from the previous photo.
Does that make sense?
Cheers

Did you notice and improvements with AF? Some people are reporting that accuracy has improved but it could be down to placebo effect.

I'm wondering if the corrections that it applies will also affect using other WA adapters like the ones from Nikon and Sony.
I was hoping for a little better manual focus stepper motor response.
Of course, I DID just get the camera a few days ago so I'm still learning it. Kind of reminds me of my old Hexar and I have to get used to thinking that way. The Hexar was very fast, the X100 not as much but still faster than I can physically focus my 35 Summilux.
I just need more practice. Good thing the weather is nice today!

I thought 1.21 sped up the AF. Haven't noticed 1.3 effect yet. Actually, I'm not one who objected to AF speed. Good enough for my purposes.

Firmware Update Ver 1.3
Firmware Update Ver 1.3
This is probably a dumb question, but.....
My X100 is currently at ver 1.11 (I think). Can I download directly to ver 1.30 & still have all the upgrades from ver 1.20 & ver 1.21?
Or do I have to sequentially download each successvive update?
Thanks in advance for answering!!!

Press and hold the DISP/BACK button whilst turning on the camera. The camera's current firmware version will be displayed.

One thing I noticed my focus point became cross type.

Change the focus selector switch back to S or M. The cross has nothing to do with checking the firmware version. The change you notice is a a coincidence.

Oh ok now where is that focus selector in the menu.

It is not a menu item.. It is a physical switch on the body, left hand side with three positions continuous, single and manual focus. A cross hair is indication u are in continuos af mode.
