Well my first outdoor shots:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/nomy/sets/72157600362961346/
It's that simple, all manually set...
I want to express why i love this one:
- Tessar lens, and the 12x optical zoom
- Histogram and exposure value display when viewing files and histogram when shooting also.
- Macro mode(not the best, only up to 2 cm but never had that before)
- Shutter speeds up to 30 secs.
- The view finder is the same as the LCD, that is good in bright light, although the LCD is bright enough to defy sun light, yet i would have preferred a normal one.
- Very easy to use, the manual focus is cool, i'd have preferred a dial on the lens but it's cool that way.
- Manual controls through a jog dial right under the shutter release and the focus mode button is near too, the thing is the buttons controlling focus are in the back next to the LCD, it's not practical if i want it fast.
- I hate flash but it's nice.
- I am satisfied with the quality of the photos.
One problem though, i still think that digital images are just images, photography is more about film.
Chemical reactions, actual grains, or stimulators?? I prefer it natural, but this camera will be a fast door to improve.

Back in the day I have a sony f717, I really loved that camera, it took such fantastic black and white photos. I always used the viewfinder but sometimes the lcd came in handy. The problem was I needed to start printing photos in large sizes and 5 megapixles didnt cut it. I ended up selling the camera and seriously considering a sony f828 but in the end bought a canon 20D. I miss that old sony with its wonderfully fast zeiss sonnar lens....
ps I would love to see the images, but as you might know flickr is now banned here in china, maybe you could attach a few for kicks?

Why is Flickr banned in china??
Carl Zeiss lenses are gorgeous, i'm lovin, yet it's still early, i am testing it, only problem i had is with the manual focus, i am not used to the lack of rings and yesterday i was on a building roof by the sea, and it was bright(cloudy but bright), i couldn't distinguish the focused areas, i am still counting on my senses for the distance...Too early though, but i'm loving it.
Anyway there you go...

thanks, there was a current events thing going on at flickr and all hell broke loose somehow, I dont know all the details, since I have been told about a patch that allows me to get around the ban, so i can see the images now. There is something about the colors that these zeiss digital lenses product that I really love or hate, I duno, its so neutral
