First film through GTN

I'll try to scan some negs in later and post images, but I must say I'm impressed with the results. I enjoyed using the GTN after bringing it back to life, and it doesn't owe me anything (it only cost £2) , so the first roll was a cheap Kodak ColourPlus 200ASA. Some shots that I had not expected to come out (taken in dark conditions) came out very well, so the metering works reasonably well. (some frames slightly underexposed), also the shutter being a leaf shutter has allowed relatively slow shutter speeds without obvious camera shake.

The contrast and sharpness wasn't surprising after reading other users' posts.

Definitely a keeper, best £2 I ever spent 🙂

A pic of York Minster, and a crop from a small area of the same neg. Also a pic from inside York Railway Museum - very dim lighting, wasn't sure if shots taken here would turn out. The GTN handled it rather well 🙂

Hey for the US equiv of - what is the exchange rate now? About $20 Bush administration Republican fiscal incompetence created "dollarettes" to the Euro, you gotchyerself the best 35mm rangefinder ever made (tied with the Lynx 14), far and away, hands down, bar none including Leicas, Contaxes, modern Bessa knock-offs made by Cosina, and a camera that leaves any and all miserable DSLRs in the dust. "Digital Rangefinders" are non-starters since real rangefinders are film cameras. I don't know what the M8 or that Epson is, but they ain't rangefinders, though they use rangefinders to focus.

Great pics, and congrats. Don't let the tiny purchase price bias you. Forget what you paid for it. You gotchyerself the best 35mm camera ever made by man.

Is the picture of the ferris wheel actually the London Eye? I was there last year and will be there again this July. I didn't have my Yashsica with me at that time but I did have a Canon ML and captured some truly great shots going up, at the top, and going down. This July however, I will have one of my Yashicas with me, either my GSN, GTN or MG-1. I've been having some good success with my two MG-1s, though they aren't quite as versatile as the GSN series. I'll bet you'll soon be picking up another one in the near future. Another thing besides being a great camera, they're fairly easy to work on - I removed the top on my GTN tonight in about 3-4 minutes and cleaned off the viewfinder with a Q-Tip and then replaced the top. The entire project took less than 10 minutes. Great cameras!!!

Harlee, It's not the London Eye, it's a much smaller version in York. Still big enough though 😱

I agree they are great to work on, this was resurrected from having lens fungus, and a dirty rangefinder. Batt is a set of 4 SR44s wrapped in gaffer tape with a spring poking out one end. It works 🙂
