First from the Bessa R 21/4

Dear all;

Lurked for a while, then did some surfing ......

Bessa-R and 21/4 came up at B&H for the magic $425 that Icould spend ....

Here are some of the first goes ......
( Sams Mini Lab/Epson V350 Scan, Fuji 400 film )

This is really a tad too close for this lens I think ......

A bit of a focus error .....

I shot 100s of Nikon D80 85/1.8 photos around the same time, and these are some of my favorite .... Even though not nearly as pixel peeping good, they have a feel.

My mobile phone produces comparable images. Technically at least.

ah the point ..... I can produce much better techncical images ( but still snaps ) from the nikon, their auto focus blows away my eye, the exposure is right, yada yada yada, .... but, as for the images I like, my inferior scan and less than stellar craft still captures me more than the technically better image.

The following is from the Nikon, a bit better technically exicuted, but still a snap. It looks even better at full res, point is, the image just lacks some of the feel of the above.

Please feel free to post some from the cell phone so we can compare.

Hi,

There is clearly something wrong. The pictures are way too soft. Or the lens is not right, or the camera rf is of, or you focused wrongly.
