Got the film back today from my first outing with my newly-acquired Pen FT. I was worried about whether or not the meter would be in the ballpark or not. I'm using a Wein cell for power & it seems to have done a good job. I used the 40/1.4, a roll of Acros 100 and a roll of Tri-X. Processed/scanned by North Coast (who gave great & very fast service). I'm pleased with the results, and really enjoyed working with this camera. These are awesome little machines!!

Thanks! I come from the digital world, and it's been a challenge to find traction with a film system for one reason or another. Over the past couple of years, I've been through: Hexar AF, Hexar RF, Fuji 645i, Pentax 67, Graflex XL, Nikon F3T, Nikon N90s, Canon F1N. They all have had their pros & cons, but nothing has felt right until shooting with this Pen FT. Weird, huh? In my mind, the Pens give the perfect combination of simplicity, size, flexibility & quality. Maitani san was simply brilliant!

I agree with you completely, and I have a very hard time describing why I get along with this camera so well. It's some combination of the size, and the perfectly sculpted top plate, and the portait-oriented viewfinder, and the barely perceptible bit of angular pull I feel when I release the rotary shutter, and the size, and the slightly less than perfect resolution of the half-frame negatives, and the yellowed lens elements, and the size...

I've taken most of my best shots with my Pen FV, as well as, strangely, my biggest enlargements. I'll never give it up. It's the SLR that keeps me coming back for more. Glad to see that someone feels the same way. 😀
