First photos w/ 100mm lens

I'm very happy with the first real shots from my 100mm lens. Of course I ran a test roll beforehand, but I tried it for a few frames at a wedding recently and am very pleased.

These were taken on Kodak UltraColor 400, processed C41, and scanned on a CanoScan 9950F at 2400 ppi. This process gives me roughly a 20 megapixel file to work with.

Comments / Critiques welcome. There seems to be a lot of interest in what this lens can do, so I thought I'd post a pic or two.

Nice photos! What lens and camera? I'm guessing a Canon?

The jpegs look like they suffered a bit from overcompression. I'll bet these look really good printed.

From the aspect ratio, it looks more like a BronicaRF..

Yep, it was the Bronica RF, using the RF 100mm f/4.5 lens, UC400 in 120 format, fill flash w/ RF20 at around -1/2 if memory serves.

For some reason, the EXIF data didn't save on the image. ;^)

I shot 99% digital at this wedding, both for cost and because the indoor lighting was really bad. But when we were outdoors for a brief moment, I grabbed the Bronica and the results are what you see.

I got lucky with the cropping on the kiss photo, I guess the frame lines are just a little tight. Usually there's a bit left over, but in this case I just barely got the groom's shoulder and the edge of the bride's veil onto the negative. What you see here is the entire 6x4.5 frame, not cropped afterwards. Phew, that was a close one! I'll take a step backwards next time. (no, it's not the 135mm frame lines, as far as I can tell anyway)
