After finally getting around to changing the light seals on this little guy, I shot my first test roll. Expired Kodak Tri-X 400, souped in Xtol 1:1. This also happens to be my first roll shot through a RF. I've been SLR since I got into photography.

This little Canon does a surprising job. Not to mention, I can hand hold to ridiculously low shutter speeds. The lantern shot is at 1/8th and it's pretty sharp.

Nice pics, I just bought one of these myself and have changed the seals, film still in and hoping to get finished by next week. I did the same to a yashica GTN and it is great. So much for me changing over to digital......

Great stuff! I love my QL 17 (Its not a GIII but it is a black one!!) I too have found that it is possible to take shots by hand right down to 1/8th...

Thanks everyone! Yeah, I think its from years of trying to quell the mirror-slap of my big SLR's that I gained a pretty steady hand (and good mechanics). There is a right way to minimize camera shake - brace the arms, hold your breath, and squeeze that trigger slow and smooth. Hmm... I wonder if I'd be good at firing a gun.
