Finally got around to getting a LX3. I got a great deal in the local Craigs List for 2500 SEK / $310USD, the camera had hardly been used. Plus it's the black one :)

So last three-four days I've had it with me trying it out for street shots and indoor stuff. I think it works really nice. The only thing that bothers me is that it will not memorize the zoom the camera had before I shut it off. Other than that, the camera's almost perfect. Almost! (Hey, it's not analogue :)). I think the LX3 is a keeper!

Here are a couple of pictures:

I find that pretty annoying, too. Hopefully, it's something Panasonic will address with a firmware update.

I like the 2nd photo, btw. Grandma isn't fooled by a sneaky chest shot.

We're in the same boat. Really enjoying my recently purchased LX3 and wishing all the manual settings would stick through a power cycle.

And I, too, like the second shot. Her suspicous expression is great and I like the way you caught your own hands & camera reflected in the mirror thus cluing in the viewer as to the source of her suspicion.

Looking forward to seeing more of your LX3 work (despite it not being a rangefinder).

Can you inform us what exactly did you buy with SEK2500/$3100? I am asking because the body alone -brand new at a UK Leica dealer- has a recomended retail price of just under £600, and much less if one shops around.

I like this camera a lot to the point of almost getting one.

I especially like the 16:9 aspect ratio that this camera offers.

The only thing I don't like is the small sensor (can't produce shallow enough DOF for my taste when I wanted it).

$310 is a good price for a used one in good condition, good job :)

Resurrecting my old thread with some new pics, taken with the B&W Dynamic preset mode. All shots from today afternoon @ 1600 ISO (pictures 1, 4, 5, 6 w/ flash). It get totally dark here at 3PM.
