So I recently picked up a Yashica Electro 35 GSN from eBay after recommendation from my father and further research online. It came as-is from the seller with a ding on the top of the lens. Bought the battery adapter from yashica-guy and tried it... nothing. Figured, I'd get my moneys worth on the battery adapter by using the yashica-guy website for repair. Took the camera apart, found a lose wire on the top of the battery spring, resoldered it, calibrated infinity on the rangefinder, cleaned the glass, and put it back together. Bingo everything seems fine. Only complaint at first was the light meter contacts seemed a bit dirty and would cause flickering when you pushed the button down. That fixed itself by excercising the button about 100 times over the first roll. Works beautifully now.
Anyway, I've recently gotten into photography starting with my wife buying me a Nikon D40. I've replaced that with a D50, bought a bunch of lenses and accessories, resurrected my old Petri SLR (even bought more lenses on craigslist), and bought the Yashica.
Here's a few shots from my first 2 rolls on the Yashica. First shot is with Kodak max 400, others with Walgreens 800. All processed at Walgreens and scanned by them. I really dig this camera.
I know these are essentially snaps, test rolls will do that.
