Tuolumne sold me his extra R-D1 body, and since it wasn't through a classified (I'd been whining about wanting one in a thread here), I don't think I can give him feedback. But it's in great shape, it came quick, and he was friendly and informative in his messages. So thanks!

I went around the yard taking test pictures. I think I'm going to love this thing--I can't believe I can take photos with my favorite lenses and get to look at the results five minutes later...amazing!

With the Jupiter-9 (having trouble focusing it...I'm going to need to find the right thickness of shim):

With the Canon 35/1.8 (my favorite on this camera, so far):

With the CV 21/4 wide open:

Minimal messing in Lightroom--mostly the clarity slider, which I'm addicted to. I really like the neutral colors I'm getting with this sensor...there is lots to work with.

Thanks to everyone for your advice!

Glad you like it! Those are nice off-the-cuff pix. If that's your backyard, you're lucky to be surrounded by nature. And a clothesline with clothespins - Wow - haven't seen that in deca-years. How'd you ever talk your wife into using one of those !? ;)

Are you kidding? She had to talk ME into installing the damned thing. She also spins wool and raises chickens. It's like 1890 at our place. Except for the internet.
