So I finally have been using my Leica M4-P with the Zeiss 35mm / F2 lens.
Out of the 3 rolls I shot one did not have any exposures. I only noticed that something was wrong when the counter when way past 36 exposures.
The consecutive roll felt also "strange" and the rewind knob did not turn. So I opened the camera to verify to see if I was really taking pictures. Rather waist some film that being in doubt.

The images are very contrasty. And I wander what I can do different.

I had to have the film developed by the local lab and they did both films like this:
Arista fine grain developer for 8 minutes @ 70F.
Agitated 5 sec. every 30 sec.

Up until image 35 was Ilford Pan F Plus (ISO 50) and after that Tri-X (ISO400)

On exposure 47 & 53 I made a mistake and underexposed by 3 F stops.

I just had a look at your gallery (the link you provided) and like the photos quite a lot !! m4-P_5 and m4-P_27 are my favorites (composition and tones)

So the problem with your M4-P, was the film correct loaded or is it a failure of the camera ? I had the wind unit replaced by Leica once, since then it runs very smooth and no problems at all.

I guess I must have loaded the film incorrectly, despite the fact that I confirmed that the film was loading onto the axel by a couple of winds.

BTW the swim shots a moved on purpose 🙂

Of the swim shots, m4-P_57 and 58 I like ! It looks like you used a very wide angle lens ?

About the film loading, when I just had received my M6TTL, 36 shots of my first film with that camera where exposed within 10 centimeters but I only had realized that something was wrong when the counter reached 40 ... :bang: Wrong loading happens from time to time 😉

Nope all with the same Zeiss 35mm / f2
I cropped image 58 a little bit to get rid of the pool edge. So the angle appears even narrower ;-)

Made new "Scans" with 5D

Made new "Scans" with 5D

I used the negative holder from our HP flat bed scanner, taped it against "Plexilite". Put it on the windowsill with, Canon 5D with 100 Macro lens on tripod and digitized the negatives in Raw format.
After a little tweaking in PS it became clear that the scans from Costso are to blame for the very high contrast 🙁

However its choking to see how much detail gets lost despite using a very good camera and lens.

Indeed you guy's are right, nothing beats film image quality wise 😎

A friend of mine offered his Coolscan 9000 for me to use for a while 🙂

What a difference!
Only some tweaking in Lightroom (contrast, sharpness and some curves).
