first roll from canonet ql17 giii...not sharp?

Quite a few firsts for me--first rangefinder, first roll, first time developing b&w--so I'm hoping it's me and not the camera.

That's a lot of variables! I took a look at your photos and I can't tell if it's poor focusing or processing.

Try shooting with colour film outside and getting the film developed and scanned somewhere reputable. That'll tell you whether it's the camera or something else. I don't think I've ever heard of a Canonet rangefinder being mis-aligned. Maybe people just toss 'em if they don't focus properly.

Good idea. I'll shoot a test roll and have a lab process it for comparison.

I thought about the scanner, too. I'm using an Epson 4490. I guess if the test roll prints out fine, I can scan the neg and see if it's the scanner that's blurring the images.

Now that I think about it, the film was curved, even when it was in the tray that came with the scanner. How do I make the film stay flat?
