Recently acquired an RD-1. It's a bit worn and had over 30 hot pixels before running the mapping utility. It's amazing how it handles and is used like a film camera. Here are a few pics from my first "roll" with the RD-1. Thanks for looking. Comments welcome.

Nice shots. Content-wise, I like no 2 best, but I like the quality of all of them. Did you shoot in mono or colour and convert? I'm a new user too having had my RD1 only three days. Good work.

I've been shooting in RAW, then using PhotoRaw to manipulate as much as possible before outputting a B/W TIFF file. I usually have to do more processing after because the PhotoRaw software is so limited. How are you enjoying the RD-1 experience? For me, it's like using film but with the convenience of digital. I'm very happy with the B/W this camera produces.

Thanks for the comment. I've been using the 40mm Summicron-C and VC 35mm f/1.2.

Those are two great lenses for the R-D1 (along with the CV 28/1.9 in my opinion.).

I used all three of these with my R-D1 at one time or another, but in the end I sold them and I stuck with the lenses that I use alot with my film Leicas in order to not have too many lenses "in the stable": the CV 25/4, Summicron 35mm, Summilux 50mm, and Summilux 75mm.

Keep up the good work!

Without hijacking your thread, just thought I'd show some pix of mine from the last couple of days. Only shot jpeg so far as I've never shot RAW before and don't really know where to start yet. Gonna give it a go soon though. I'm pretty pleased with the camera so far.

What software do you use for your post-PhR processing? I'm starting to feel incredibly limited by the software.:bang: I have to bit the bullet, having jumped in with both feet, and learn some digital darkroom program. Recommendations? I am not looking to rebuild photos. Merely sharpening, the occasional dodging/burning, cropping, etc etc. Where's a good place to start? I'm reasonably computer literate, but no hacker, not by a long shot.

Sorry if this is getting way off topic....and any other thread recommendations would be welcomed....

I have recently been using RawTherapee and Stepok's RAW Importer since they are both free.

Rawtherapee is more sophisticated than Epson RAW and much like Bibble and Capture ONE in terms of the screen layout.

Stepok's RAW Importer has a very basic layout and offers even more limited control than Epson RAW but produces very high quality images.
