I just picked up the prints from my test roll on my new Color Skopar 21/4. The minilab tech asked me "what kind of camera/lens did I use?" when I picked up the roll. He remarked how sharp the prints were. Nothing of great interest on the roll but they are sharp! Things like small signs that showed up in Manhattan building shots can actually be read with a loupe. Framing is a different story. The VC finder is bright but nothing is as I framed it. Too much in some pics, not enough in others. I'll have to learn the finder. Flare if the sun is in the frame, but what do you expect. Very little fall off at the edges. And the rectangular hood is very nicely made. I'm sure that a Leica brand lens is probably better in the specs department but how much I don't know.
By the way, I got the lens in chrome and it is very nicely constructed and finished. Stu

Great to hear from another satisfied 21VC user. I like mine for the same reasons and fight with the VF too.

You may or may not know this already ... Sometime ago, I was looking for a cap to work with the rectangular hood, turns out that a 37mm center-pinch cap commonly available in *bay fits the application very nicely (alternative is a hood cap like Optec mini)... But cap or no cap, the 21/4 is a very nice lens indeed 🙂
