Last week I had a cousin come visit me. I showed him around some of my favorite places, one of which was Rocky Mountain National Park.
Now, I always have some sort of camera with me when I go out hiking. This time I took my new (to me) Fugi G690 medium format camera. I decided to load up a roll of Ektar 100 for the hike. This is my first color roll I've shot through the camera, I've only shot 3 rolls total through it so far, all black and white.
Anyway, today I developed the roll at home using a Unicolor C41 chemical kit. I just finished scanning them in and adjusting them to my taste (mostly just some contrast adjustments).
I normally shoot in black and white, but I am definitely going to be running some more rolls of color through this camera!

Very nice. The clouds add a lot to the pictures, and they are exposed just right (the whitest whites are not blown out).

Just beautiful Andrew! I really have GAS for a Fuji 6x9 or maybe a 645 as they get a few extra frames per roll.

Having shot with multiple formats (645, 6x6, 6x7 and now 6x9), I'm finding the 6x9 to be quite amazing. The detail is kind of ridiculous on a 6x9 (double of a 645 neg from what I understand) and the colors just have this "look". Much much different from my 35mm film work but the aspect ratio is what I'm used to

Save up? Hmm, you can get the OP's set up (G690) or a GW690 mkI for barely what any other decent MF camera goes for. I saw some user units going for $250 from Japan. There was a thread around about this.
Now, shooting them can get expensive. It's either think whether you have a small LF camera or a Large 35mm one. 8exp can be plenty or go too fast. At times it confuses me.
For a "35mm substitute" 645 would work well, and the GA645 line was a well thought companion.
As of saving up, well, no fault. You can fork a bit into a Texas Leica, then a TLR, then a 45, plus the film, and the processing, gas, some plane tickets...
A good thing of these is that is you shear off the top and bottom of frame... You have a larger than Xpan neg panorama (sans width)!
I am low on 120 slide and should buy another propack, though I tend to shoot neg in the warm months (more and harsher light) -- a pity is that a scan doesn't make them justice, 6x9 slides are to behold.

I am in eastern Oregon for the eclipse with my GW 690 II & GSW690 II shooting mostly Fuji 400 Pro. And I hope to get some good shots, these days 35mm does not seem worth the bother due to image quality and I do not have the room for my 8x10 kit in a Jeep Wrangler for the three of us and camping gear. But 6x9 is the sweet spot to me.

Personally never liked this new Ektar at all... For color neg Portra 160 VC better than the Portra 160 they replaced it with to me. The best and for transparency E100G, Velvia, or Provia... No one noticed the color shifts in the sky?? Looks almost the a magenta/green shift..
