I finally broke down and bought one of these off the 'bay, and am very
glad I did! Had to do a lot of cleaning, lubed the stiff focus wheel, but
am impressed by the Cintar 50 lens:

Using cheap Ferrania 400 film. I ordered a Series V hood for the lens as I've
seen some flare shots on flickr, hope it helps.

Your shots look great to me! Good color rendition and sharp! Where did you find the series V lens hood that you ordered? Thanks for sharing!

Tom, thanks for your comments. I did a search on the 'bay and it came up
with this guy among others. The #11 offered, looked about right for a 50
normal:

My one concern is how much real estate it will take out of the RF/VF. I
know it will be some.

Hey, Bill! I like your rf handle, too ...

Hey, Paul, nice to see you here! Yeah, I use that nick the most, only two
forums where I don't. I picked it from the '67 movie with Christopher Jones
and Susan Strasberg, not the storm.

I got a bunch of this Ferrania film direct from the distributor in Oklahoma:

The 400 film is marked "24exp" on the box, but are actually 36exp rolls when
you look at the cassettes, not bad for $1.98 a roll. The 100 film goes for a
$1.50/24exp roll and they charge exact shipping weight, no handling charges.
When I got the film, they had assigned me an account #.

I had a Matchmatic for a short time eons ago--the whole set: camera, meter, flash, and case. I took a roll of slides at Cheaha State Park that I thought were great for such an inexpensive camera. Really didn't need it, so I sold it soon afterward.

Italian? C-41?

Yup, Italian and C41. If interested I could give you contact info, Shirley's
email address. Above shots were dev'd by Wallies and I scanned them at
home.

Thanks, I like messing around with these old cameras. Argus is a piece
of American history.

In the first few images I thought the grain was rather extreme, but the more I look at your shots, the more I like them. I think I'll invest in some of this film (I need some more for my trip to Ireland next month).

Great job with your Match-Matic.
