First roll with a 3.5F

Thanks to Eddy Smolov I was able to finally use the 3.5F. I got the camera in broken condition on ebay [it was not advertised to be broken!] a few years ago.














 
those are beautifull. even more than the ones w/ rollei tele..

FA, sand won't get into cameras unless there is a windstorm r you drop the camera..
 
Tones look good. One of them (the second? the sixth?) could perhaps be made into a 30" by 40" or thereabouts.
 
I find the last photo best, although the half frame horizon line is a bit unsettling, This is a great camera.

I just make sure that my other two TLR's are tucked in the camera bag well and that I cover the camera with my body if I see sand blowing my way.
 
These are stunning, Raid. I agree with paysam on the second one: that would probably look great enlarged.

As an FYI, I'm flying down to Jacksonville next weekend to photograph my nephew's FSU graduation. Hoping the light (and weather) will be working for me in a similar way.

wow, seriously? Eddy seems to be able to fix anything...i mean ANYTHING...i have sent him lenses, different weird cameras. He pretty much fixed them all for bargain price.
Is it a planar or xenotar? contrast looks very nice and very sharp.

Eddy and I are on excellent terms. I think of him as a long distance friend I have never met in person. He LOVES fixing mechanical cameras and he will not give up if there are no spare parts. He would then say something like "Raid ... you want camera, huh, ... I will fix anything ... you know ... OK"
My 3.5F has the Planar taking lens.

I got from Krikor the missing part [a chain], and Eddy put the part in. He also did several things to the front of the camera [sometimes I do not fully understand what Eddy tells me over the phone when the connections are poor with the cell phone]. It sounded as if some of the parts were not for the 3.5F.

Actually, in that image the horizon line makes the top third of the image. It's as if the image has been sliced into three thirds.

Yes, this is a great camera.
 
Raid - you've just sent me down 'memory lane' this was one of my ( and many others ) favourite wedding and portrait tools, in younger days, before all this digital nonsense! :)

Dave,

I sometimes dare to state here that "I dislike digital photography". Even my non-photographer wife strongly dislikes images taken with digital cameras. She can actually tell which image was taken digitally.

I feel that cameras such as the Rolleiflex TLR are great to own and to use.
