First roll with my Contax III and Sonnar 1,5, I like :)

Bought this 1938 Contax III in dec. 2005 and have now finally developed my first roll. Surprised over the good exposures using the built in Contax light meter and also the lens accuracy, this set up is definitely a keeper. Also indoor shooting with full aperture results were very good. The sound of the shutter is so sweet 🙂

Have you considered cropping the top, bottom, and right side to make it become more of an abtract?

No but I just gave it a little black frame... I haven't cropped and trimmed it or altered it in any way. Maybe later... got more of those canoes 🙂 To make it more abstract you mean? I'm not happy with the fence or what it is up there... But I was just amazed over how contrasty this lens is. Good bye Zuikos, Nikkors and Summicrons...

I think it's ok. At least the RF is accurate and the view is pretty clear... In subdued environment not so good. But that goes for all RF/WF...

Added an improvised portait on my ol' dad in one of his thoughtful moments... Indoor daylight, full aperture, and 1/50th sec. The depth of field could have been a tad wider and it's little too hard on highlights. But hey it's the first roll 🙂

Nice shots. Now you know why the Sonnar was the fast lens king for almost 20 years until Leitz came out w/the Summilux & Voigtlander developed the Nokton (& Nikon introduced their own updated version of the Sonnar). . .
