First roll with my Nikon S3 2000...

Yes, it came from Japan last week, with its nice millenium 50mm f/1.4. I put a roll of FP4+ in it, and here are two pictures, plus a crop from the original print to see the sharpness from this beautiful lens. It is quite awesome.

Dangerous gate, Limoges, France :

I am quite happy with this lens and I must admit it is one of the best 50mm lens I ever had tried. This is GREAT ! Woopeee !😉

those pictures speak to me strongly. Still, i'm astonished that you're using your new S3 200 for this genre (objets trouvées, graphic elements) and not for example for street photography and people. Crossing genres can be envigorating!

Congrats and welcome to the Really Dark Side! I bet she will last easily another 30 years, perhaps another 60! My S3-2000 stayed while all of my Leica gear has other good homes these days.

It is a wonderfully fun camera and IMHO, worth it's weight in gold.

Well, I usually shoot with MF or LF and I'm not particularly at ease when shooting in the street, unless I see someone who has really something interesting. I have not found in my dictionnary an explaination for the word "envigorating" so I must admit I have not entirely understand your last phrase. Nice picture from the guy with the dog !

I think a good rangefinder camera is a good all-around photographic tool. The precision of focus and the excellence of lenses can make for many compelling graphic images.

Is that an old R-15 rag top? I still love the look of the 15/17 in the mid 70's. That classic looks like I could fall in love with it very quickly though. I wish they never pulled out of the US.

The S3 is such a wonderful camera. Make you think just enough. Feels solid but not burdensome.

It is a rare 4cv Renault "découvrable". Some sort of miniature french made beattle made in the early post war years. Relatively fast for a 750cm3 engine, around 60 65 mph... !

I think its called a "Decapotable" or something like that. Nice car, but very cramped inside and the roadholding was eccentric, to say the least.

The engine was in the rear part of the car, and the transmission breaks up easily if you try sport driving. The answer to the more than approximate driving was to put a 50kg weight load in the front . The rarest 4cv (there is no surviving sample anymore) is the Police version, with boosted engine (special head cylinder and carburetor) , aluminium doors, that was capable of an impressive 90mph.

Decapotable means cabriolet, but découvrable means only the roof and the rear window can be removed, the doors and the side of the car are rigid.

I did not know that the 4 came in a cabriolet. I thought I've seen pull back tops like the 5 had but it was a long time ago.
