Yesterday night I went to see Maria Rita's Concert and didn't have any fast film to take with me so I decide give Rollei R3 a try. At fisrt I thought that pushing to 1600 will be enough but after a first reading and with the intention of freezing Maria's movements (motion blur would kill her feeling, her amazing presence and elegant gestures) I had to push to 3200 to shoot at 125. When I came I was afraid that even with Rollei RHS (Rollei High Speed Developer) the images came out with an inadequate grain for this type of subject... Browsing a little trying to find others experiences with R3 I step in an article about using it 1+9 and give more 10% of the time of the standard dilution (1+7). I use 1+9 and gentle inversions and I enjoy the results! Grain exists but isn't unpleasant. Here are some samples:

Most of the shots where made with 125 f4 or f5.6.
Does anyone have some experiences to share of R3 pushed at 1600 / 3200 ... ?
It is strange that some years after Rollei launch the new line of Black & White products, there is so little talk about this products!
Regards,
Joao
