In a similar vein to recent threads, decided to give developing a go. reasonably happy with the results, but any suggestions would be useful (aside from ones about the dust- i will rescan at some stage when the scanner is clean, but can't be bothered now).

Oh forgot to add- it's shot in an "evil" SLR- a zenit 12xp that my dad found in the cupboard.

Very nice. And congratulations on your first roll.

It is difficult to tell from these, but be sure you aren't overdeveloping. It increases the contrast and will tend to block up your highlights.

Nice! I like the doll heads and the dog.

In regards to the dust... I have a can of compressed air that I shoot the negs with before I scan them. I feel like it reduces the time I am cloning out dust in PS.

thanks for the tips, i'm going to try reducing developing time next try.. the hot weather over here in aus shakes things up a bit. if i chill the developer to 19 degrees C, by the time development has finished, it's up to 22 degrees. ah well will experiment and see.
