I just shot my first roll of Tri-X, but due to a now important shot on the roll I'm hesitant to develop it. I went out with some friends and ended up taking a picture of my friend's wife with her favorite TV actor (somehow no one else got a digital shot of her with him...). Now, I'm scared that I'm going to ruin the first roll somehow and blow her once in a lifetime shot. Being that this would be my first attempt at development, am I better off sending the film out to avoid ruining the roll? or if I'm careful is this relatively foolproof? I had planned on using HC-110, but there seem to be many different dev times, any no-brainer starting suggestions?

If you think I should send it out any suggestions on a lab? I've only developed C-41 at Walgreens before and I don't think there is a lab reasonably local to me.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I saw your message on Flickr and think you got good advice there, to shoot another roll or two of TriX as test rolls, to test out the process, and once satisfied with them to process this roll.

It's not difficult to process B&W film, but I'd say it's better to err on the side of caution with this roll. I just developed my first roll in probably 30 years, and it came out perfectly - just like riding a bike!

HTH!

Thanks a lot, yeah I think the advice there was very helpful..mainly shooting a few test rolls and developing them first. Had a face palm moment when I read those.
