Five week holiday and GAS

Well tonight I had to make a last minute pop in to my local camera shop to try and get some lithium batteries to make my Nikon SLR a bit more cold resistant before I travel to Europe. They didn’t have any but I had time for a quick look around (bad move). During the week I had a test roll back from my FED2, I wanted to see some results using my 15mm Voigtlander lens. The FEDs don’t seem to allow the 15mm’s built in hood to line up to 12 o’clock and the negs can show it in the corners on some cameras 🙁 ….and it did on the FED2 I’m taking 😡 To cut a long story short I walked out with a new Bessa L and case. They were almost giving away the last one they had and it is the perfect match for the 15mm (well that’s my story 😀)

Tomorrow I fly out for Dubai, London, Venice, Oxford, Poland (Krakow, Zakopane), France (Tours, Saumur, Paris) and back to Australia, 5 weeks all up. I’ll be looking forward to using those slow speeds indoors and for night shots…MMmmm. My FED2 will wear its normal 35mm/2.8 and I’ll take a J8 50mm for it as well. I’ll also take a small Nikon SLR kit. I hope to get some stuff in my gallery when I get back at the end of May.

You will love the 15mm lens on the L 🙂 It works so well. Mines silver and the black 15 looks really good on it 🙂 CameraQuest had no black ones when I got mine. I wish I had one when I was over in Italy and France last year, is muchly needed in those long long halls and stuff. Have fun on your trip! 🙂
