flame suit on... but -->

Perhaps worth noting that UK press has been speculating for some time that the 5D is relatively long in the tooth and overdue replacement. ie new model should offer superior performance and accelerate depreciation of residual values of the 5D.

Get the 5D. You know it's what you want to do. 🙂

Being in love with Leica is just simply not a good enough reason to stay with film. It's the process you have to love. You don't really like the film process. Use digital. Better to be shooting lots of photos with the digital than fondling your little used Leica in front of the fireplace at night.

I agree with this. I mainly shoot film because I enjoy the process and I like the results I get from spending a day in my wet darkroom, turning my fingers strange colours. I also like shooting digital but too much of it turns me lazy. Mechanical film cameras and fixed focal lengths make me concentrate on what I'm trying to achieve, which works for me.

that sounded awesome until i looked it up and i don't think they work on a mac? 🙁

i guess i can always run vista on dualboot, but it'd be silly to have vista just for that.

I was corrected in another thread - the Plustek will work in dualboot, but if you don't have some version of windows already that's not much of a bargain. Get an Epson V500 or V700 and improved holders form betterscanning.com.
