"Flapperisque" 1920`s styled PinUp w/Canon f1.5 50mm LTM on Leica IIIC *many photos*

Hello Folks!

Here`s a photoshoot we just threw together really quickly yesterday afternoon.....it`s my Sicilian/Cuban friend and part time model Emilia Maria
in a 1920`s Flapperish style shoot done with a very late production 1956 Canon f1.5 50mm lens
(mostly shot wide open and with no hood)
on a 1946 Half Race Leica IIIC

Kodak C-41 B&W 400 asa film on a overcast cloudy Florida day about 2pm in the afternoon

I did get some flaring , I think the 40mm FLAT filter did`t help without the hood 😛
(I forgot it 🙁 but, it`s going on next time right as I leave the house, plus I`m going to shoot without the flat UV filter)

No 6 and 10 are my favourites. Those also seem to have the most in the pin-up style - mainly because of the pose of her - .

Really, really nice work. A few with one of those "Flapperisque" style caps that women wore then might have worked well too as I find her hair style a bit too modern looking vs all the other props and styling. Plus I think she'd look marvelous in one. Just my 2 cents...

Yes, we will have to use some hat`s next time....it`s just that 1920`s stuff is so hard to put together nowadays, the pinup wardrobe`s I have are mostly from 1940 to 1970, so I shoot more in that direction, but Emily has a good look for the older styles I think and this was a "all for fun" test shoot anyway, nothing too serious

Emily had bought me the lens and we were just making sure that it`s working well, I`m very happy with it`s performance 🙂

I really think that this lens will be "permanently attached" to one of my Half Race Leica`s from now on.......

If you ever get stuck for ideas, or want a look that goes even further back

look at the Seeberger Brothers photography, they were I suppose the first major fashion photographers.... mostly large format but moved to rolleiflexes when they first came out and then sometimes the "minature" leicas for their work....

I always find a good amount of ideas in their work, plus you have all the major styles from the 1910s-1940s if you find one of their books (like "Elegance")

but continue the good work ...
