I know this may be a bit of a stupid question, but I'm using a manual flash trigger on an off camera flash on my X-Pro1 and also using a legacy manual focus lens. Problem is, the live view simulation gives me a black screen.

On Sony cameras, it's possible to disable the live view simulation based on the current aperture/ISO/shutter settings. It's called "Setting Effect Off" and as a result, the camera will emulate an OVF, widest aperture and even bump up the ISO a bit for me to frame better.

Is there a setting like this in my X-Pro1? Otherwise I'd manually have to throw the shutter speed down every time, frame, focus, then re-set the shutter speed.

There is a setting you can toggle. I don't remeber the exact name but it's some thing like "manual exposure preview".
I searched for it one time and turned it off for a similar reason. It's been some time since then sorry
Look through the menus... you will find it.

Found it. It's in the last setup menu, called "Preview Exp. in Manual Mode". What an odd place for it, it's between "Background Color" and "Edit File Name".

Thanks!
