about what size drive would i need to put about 300 images onto?
average size image is around 7mb.
also…is there an easy way to transfer a set of flickr images onto a flash drive?
it would save me from doing it from my unorganized computer files.

Not sure if I figured this correctly, but shouldn't those 300 file total ~ 2100 mb? If so, a 4gb flash drive should be more than adequate.

Flash drives have become so cheap I would just buy the largest unless this is a product you are giving/selling someone.
I saw a 32gig drive for 11.00 usd the other day.

It.s hard to find anything smaller than 8GB in Walgreens, etc. around here.
There is a computer electronics store that's a 10 min that might still sell 4 GB flash drives.
Reformat the drive in your Mac as a FAT. This format can be read by PCs and Macs. Never use a flash drive without formatting it first.

This is for a PC - It will be a bit different on your MAC
Click on the image you want in flickr. It will now be open in the "lightbox".
Right click on the image and select the image size you want to download. The image will now be open in the "Photo/All sizes" page. On the second line down from "Photo/All sizes" page title is the "Download the (image size you chose) size of this photo". Click on the "Download the (image size you chose) size of this photo" and either download it to a folder on your computer or your flash drive. I don't know if there is a way to download multiple images from flickr. It may take a while to do the 300 images one at a time.
Hope this helps,
Mike

+1 on format to FAT before starting. Use the disc utility in your applications.
I bought a "pack" of 8gb thumbs at Costco a couple years ago at that time they had packs of 4GB's also.
Have been trading them in and out since 2012.
Scandisk brand..... Costco price.
So cheap you may as well have a few spares handy.
Cheers!

Joe: check out CompUSA.com That is where I buy mine since they have a local store near me. I don't know about shipping to Canada.
They have a large selection of 4Gb and 8Gb for $6. They sell as thumb drives as small as 1Gb and as large as 1Tb ($1,570 for that one)

Yes.
This option is in the Disk Utilities App.
The App is found in the Utilities Folder - a sub-folder in the Applications Folder. You can find this Folder on the Finder Go drag-down menu.
Insert the flash drive; select the flash drive on the left side. Click the Erase tab, then double check that the flash drive is selected. Next select the format.
