seems there's a lot of wide angle fans among the cv users.
so what do you do, or suggest, for achieveing wide angle flash?
just for one example, if you were at a party and using a 25mm (or wider?) lens to get lots of people into each shot.
any particular equipment? or techniques?

some flashes come with wide angle diffusers that allow them to cover a much broader range... I think mine goes down to the equivilent of 17mm...

Avoid direct flash. Try to bounce it off the ceiling or walls and the spread will be much larger too.
If there's nothing to bounce with (like dark walls or outside) then try shooting your flash vertically into an empty milkjug held up high.

diffuser or bouncing seems to be the best way IMHO.

I'll second or third all that. Bounce is best, diffusion if all else fails.
I've shot some frames with the 15mm and a standard automatic flash and found the 'vignetting' pleasing under some conditions, though.
