I was doing product photography almost all day today using Nikon SB-24 flash. Initially the flash was mounted on the hot shoe. Later, I shifted to a flash cable using the port on R-D1. after about 30 odd photos, the flash port stopped working. I checked the cable with a continuity tester and it seems to be ok. Flash works fine if I mount it back on the hot shoe.

Can someone help me with this please?

Thank you.

Heh, I suffered the reverse problem a year ago; While shooting a wedding with the R-D1 and and SB-24. The flash stopped working on the hot shoe, but worked fine when I later tested it with the cable. It seems the SB-24 might be a little hot for the R-D1s electronics.

Were you able to get it working again or did it require a repair?
