Flea Markets — London

I'm a flea-market nut, but there's nowhere in London I'd particularly recommend. The biggest market is Brick Lane (sunday am), but decent cameras are now almost non-existent. In the past, Bermondsey Market (Fri am) had some decent stalls, but I've not been since they redeveloped most of the market.

However, if your free day is Thursday, check out Greenwich covered market. There's a guy called Tim who usually has a lot of folders, plate cameras etc; I noticed he had a Barnack last week. His prices are good - less than eBay. I bought a good, working Autocord from him for £45.

I agree with Paul's comments about flea-markets in London, but have the following suggestions:

Try some of the charity shops as you may get lucky - but bear in mind that even some of them now have 'valuers' for cameras etc., and some also put what they consider to be valuable items on Ebay. Having said that I picked up a Rolleicord in one for £10.00.

Think about hopping on a train and going to Arundel to visit Arundel Photographica. OK they're not a flea market, but there is a staggering array of cameras and the prices are very, very good, plus you can haggle. In fact, a number of London dealers buy from them to sell in their own shops and / or put on the internet. They can be found here:
