Hi. Picked up a Flexaret V11 (I think) the grey one for $1 at an op shop. I bid them up to $10 as I felt guilty about paying the $1 they wanted.

Anyway it is in good cosmetic condition. Focus is firm but smooth.
Its got the 35 adapter. But not a 35 mm spool.

But the shutter is stuck. Probably grease. It may have other problems as well.

Any suggestions on getting it serviced in Australia.

Otherwise it will end up on the shelf as a display.
It looks nice.

There is a possibility that you need to have film loaded for the shutter to fire. I have read somewhere that some flexarettes have a double exposure protection and film needs to be in the camera for this to work.....

Thanks for that I will check the manual that is on line.
You are right about double exposure protection it has a slider button near the shutter release for that.

Metax shutters are easy enough to service, but if the shutter is Prestor, I have read smoewhere they are a real nightmare. There is an ebay vendor in Slovakia which repairs these cameras. You could check him. Regards

Perhaps that Ebay specialist in Flexarets mentioned above is Cupog. I bought a VI from him, plus various other transactions related to the Pentacon 6TL, and everything was very good with exceptionally good packaging and delivery.

I think I recall that they will also service Flexarets, but given the postage costs I suppose it might be cheaper to buy a serviced one from him rather than post yours round the world !
