I typically use Google for everything (mail, search etc), so naturally I started posting my scans to their picasaweb. However, I then noticed that their jpeg compression seems inferior to flickr's; even if you upload without resizing, pictures are compressed before being served to the client browser, and the result in picasaweb seems inferior.

the same image was uploaded (without resizing in uploader). Is it just my perception, or do other users experience this?
It prompted me to switch to flickr as a means of showing my photos. I still use picasaweb for family snaphots, because it is not easy to migrate.
