back alley
IMAGES
been jumping back and forth this morning from here and flickr...using the slide show function to look at various lenses.
i have discovered that i prefer the leica elmar c 90/4 better than the hex 90/2.8...which surprises me. i had the hex and liked it alot, especially the 2.8 aperture and built in hood, but after comparing (in a completely non scientific manner) the elmar c is the one that produces images i like more.
and after looking at 40 mm lenses, i would like to add the fast cv 40 to my camera bag. i like 40s so having two would be ok with me. the cv 40 produces an image far removed from my 40 sonnar...not better or worse but different. maybe more modern looking, definitely sharper in a crisp sharp edged way. the 40 sonnar is sharp but seems somewhat 'romantic' in it's rendering, maybe even sensuous.
for those that don't already, i highly recommend taking the time to watch a few slide shows at flickr.
