FOBA Replacing the Pads on the Heads by Nokton48, on Flickr

Rollei SL66 Anniversary Diamond Rubber, a Friend bought large sheets of it when the repair there closed. This makes a great replacement for that Red FOBA stuff that disintegrates over time. Used cork to do these other two you see. What else do you Guys use?? 🙂

I made once this disc of cork... but I am not satisfied how it preforms!
It is too wobbly and the tripod head feels too unstable. A much more denser and a bit thinner material will be better.
I am still looking for a replacement. 🙄

Matching Trio Kern Arau Apo Repro Lenses 210mm 300mm 360mm by Nokton48, on Flickr

Not FOBA but from Switzerland 🙂

A Matching Trio of Kern Arau Apo-Repro Lenses. These three are in the Norma Catalog and I've finally found all three. Need to do some metalwork to attach them to these correct Norma Boards. On two of them I have removed the Aperture Control Mechanisms and finished up the holes. I'll be using these, the 210mm F6.8, the 300mm F9, and the 360mm F11.

How many lenses do you need to complete the whole catalog listing? 😆😍👍

Hi!

It went away on it's own, after I powered it up and down a few times. No sign of it now. 🙂

I just bought a Phase One Sliding Hasselblad Back for the Norma. Things are good......

Well I don't have the 800mm F9 Apo Ronar, but I have the 790mm F14. The 800 is heavy as a boat anchor.

Other than that I have at least one of everything 🙂 Use them all too!

New to me and also originally from Switzerland 🇨🇭 but imported from the US 🇺🇸, from Lake Zurich Illinois for be precise... 😉😌,
a very rare Broncolor P60-90 Zoom-reflector that I found recently on the famous bay... now the new home of it is also not far away from the original Lake Zurich in Switzerland... 😆🤣 here we call it Zürisee (in Swiss-German)

I was looking for one and I waited almost three years to found one offered.
It is also in great condition. There is just a little dent on the border but nothing that would interfere with the light.

It seems to be a modified P70. The geometry and dimension match and also P70 grids and barn doors can be attached...

This is very cool....I didn't even know these existed! And with it on your Pulso G head there you can have multiple points of zoom.

It is probably one of the rarest of all open reflectors made by Broncolor... as I said I waited three years to find one... there was one in the UK some four years ago but I hesitated to buy it (was very dusty and probably not in a good shape as this one...), even here in Switzerland or Germany I never saw one offered...
This time hesitation was inexistent. 😆

Here all open reflectors made by Broncolor for the Pulso bayonett known to me:
  • L40 standard reflector for Siros
  • P45 narrow angle reflector for Pulso 2, 4, F, G and Unilite
  • P50 narrow angle reflector for Pulso Twin, Pulso 8 (?), longest by size
  • P60-90 Zoom reflector for Pulso 2, 4, F, G and Unilite
  • P65 standard reflector for all Pulso
  • P70 standard reflector for Pulso 2, 4, F, G and Unilite
  • R70 standard reflector for Pulso 2, 4, F, G and Unilite, no edge present for attach grids or barn doors
  • P120 wide angle reflector for Pulso 2, 4, F, G and Unilite
  • Background reflector
  • PAR reflector
  • Umbrella reflector for for Pulso 2, 4, F, G and Unilite (with slot for the umbrella shaft)
  • Umbrella reflector d=120mm for LED F160
  • Umbrella wide angle reflector d=120mm
  • Umbrella reflector for Siros
  • P-travel reflector
  • beauty dish reflector
  • softlight reflector
  • Satellite reflector (smallest of all)
  • Snoot, if we consider it "open" and not "special" as Broncolor designated it
  • UL-to-Pulso adapter, if we use it as wide angle reflector

Did I miss something? Any additions are very welcome! 😉

with the UL-to-Pulso adapter we can attach some old and weird reflectors from the UL-era as this one the right (kind of snoot I assume)

I've been making my own Pulso to UL Adapters. They get some use, I prefer my Olde UL Beautylight, now that I have all the attachments for it. Beautiful crisp sharp Beauty light.

I LIKE that UL Snoot! I've never seen one for sale. Is that all one piece, or put together?

I'd like to find the Projection Attachment for the Olde UL Fresnel Projector. And the other stuff for it would be nice 🙂 There's a whole page full of stuff in the catalog.

If we're including the UL->Pulso adaptor, I'd also add the speckled version of the Broncolor speedring to the list, as the surface finish is intended to better scatter light and is effectively functioning as a wide-angle reflector too!

8x10 Sinar Norma Long Apo Ronar 2 by Nokton48, on Flickr

I got this Plaubel Peco Profio Camera Stand for $100 Bucks from MPEX decades ago. At the time they had six of them. I shortened the top with a hack saw, it had a big dent up there so that's gone. One of the wheels needs replaced; it is a double wheel, so the stand rotates quite easily. Perhaps the wheels were made in Germany? Something will eventually turn up. The lens here is the 790mm F14 Apo Ronar, which I also found at MPEX for $200, couldn't resist. The Stand Column does have a bit if rust on it which I will eventually clean up. Every studio needs a camera stand.

FOBA ARTEO Metal Tray bolted to Plaubel Camera Stand by Nokton48, on Flickr

I bought this uber expensive FOBA ARTEO Camera Stand Accessory Holder, for a great price on Ebay. Been wondering how in the world to attach it to my olde Plaubel Peco Camera Stand. Worked on it (on and off) for the last few days, and made a couple of trips to Lowes for parts. Now it's solidly bolted to the stand arm. to the right and below my Twin Lens Norma Portrait/Action Camera. Solid enough to hold my 5x7, 13x18cm and even 18x24 and 8x10 Norma Film Holders, with some extra room for "stuff". So, a nice upgrade to my olde Plaubel Studio Stand. This digishot was made with my new to me Sony Nex-5 Body, with my new to me Sony Nex 50mm F1.5 Light Sucker, wide open at F1.5. I like this new Nex lens. Shown above are original Sinar Norma 13x18cm Film Holders loaded and ready to go.

I don't really know because I don't own one.
I found this one in Switzerland and I assume that is in two pieces...
The diameter of the disc of the tube snoot (on the right) looks larger then the bottom of the conical snoot (on the left). So the UL attachment ring is smaller and this tube snoot and can't be attached directly...

This looks amazing!
Sure, I would prefer a Foba stand but the Plaubel in this nice dark blue looks very cool too.
Enjoy and have fun!

I found this on the werbsite of a museum of photography in Vevey, Switzerland.
It is a prototype of the Sinar p1... there was also a Sinar L (on the left)

and here a Norma, perhaps also a prototype?

Thank you FOBELIO. Quite interesting, I have never seen a Sinar "L". A radical design using Olde Norma parts.

Yes, the lower picture is an early version of Norma. I've seen a few really early ones in all black finish, the green ones were not yet in production yet I guess. I have a few parts in black finish that have come in various bundles. This camera is complete and you can really see how the evolution of parts proceeded.

I have have two books released by Sinar authored by Urs Tillmans; Basics and Applications, and Natural Landscapes.

Reshoot CFV16 75 F4.5 SA EI50 Hazylight 45 Up Fill Panel F45 1500J Primo2 by Nokton48, on Flickr

Reshoot using the 4x5 Sinar Norma as a Retro Technical Camera. Hasselblad CFV16 Reshoot Ei 50. Hurray! No more HOT pixels, they are gone in this latest capture. This is F45 with the Chrome Sinar Norma 75mm F4.5 Schneider Super Angulon, mounted with Mickey Mouse Ears for behind the camera adjustment possible. The FOBA Diffusing Cone makes a nice abstract plant holder. Made of thick acrylic, beautiful for Micro Compositions. Beautiful close-up lighting.

Nice to hear that the hot pixels are gone! Did you use low ISO for getting a cleaner image?
I love the idea using a 60+ years old camera with new camera tech... 👍😄

The FOBA cones are great! I could get them both before Foba closed in 2024.

Does somebody still use this old Broncolor projection spot from the UL-era?
Any benefits against the Pulso Spot 4 or the Spot attachment for lamps?
I even don't know how much output it have...1500J?

Recently I bought some Broncolor stuff (Mini-Hazylight and Twin Pulso) with some Foba and Sinar parts... and I saw for the first time this projection spot in person. This thing is quite large, around 60-70cm in length and >10kg heavy... The nice thing is there are two adjustable apertures for creating circular light effects.
