Yeah!
Instead of forcing us to buy a new camera, there will be a firmware update in July:

An Undesirable
Fuji continue to impress me. With some manufacturers these would upgrades would indeed have simply been a newer body on the market.
Thanks for the info

YOU LISTENING OLYMPUS????
*regain composure*
Well done Fuji, in my current head banging about which digital camera I want for my personal carry around you continue to gain points.

This is a really great addition to the X-Pro1/XE1 but when are they going to just give us the (seemingly) simple ability to set lowest shutter speed when using auto ISO ? C'mon Fuji!

this might put the xe-1 on my shopping list

I'm a bit unclear. In terms of Image quality, what will be the difference from the XE-1 and XPro-1 ?

This and second function button are just fantastic news. I'll finally be able to have white balance and iso buttons at the same time.
If you think about it, this is a substantial firmware improvement for almost two-year old camera. On other side of camera world Canikon just releases another camera to fix the flaws of the predecessor (600D, 650D, 700D...)

Great, my favorite camera (X-Pro1) just got better.
Pancake's been ordered too.

This is why my X-E1 is the best camera (the most enjoyable at the very least!) Ive ever owned.
I didn't realize they pre-announced the FW update. Lame.

Another nail in my Leica coffin
Well, another nail in my Leica coffin! I chose the X Pro over the new M240 and was 80% pleased. The 2 issues were autofocus and a better focus option for M mount and other legacy lenses. Fuji comes out with this and like others on this thread, impresses me to no end. Fuji is very loyal to their customers and really responds to their concerns. I may very well be 100% pleased soon! Not bad for under $2000 for a camera body! A hell of a lot better than $7,000!!!!!

Wow, cheers for that!
Now why didn't they highlight that in the release? I think just about every owner has been waiting for that to happen. Yay!!!

On the same page it says that there is a configurable min shutter speed for auto iso setting. Let's pray to Fuji gods so that this will also be included in announced firmware update for X-E1/X-Pro1.

I am placing more pennies in the piggy bank as we speak for used X-Pro 1... Its been pretty amazing how they have committed themselves to this system.
My gut tells me that the jump in IQ with the next X-Pro won't be substantial enough for me to want to pay full price. With an increase in AF, focus peaking, and customization it sounds like they just released the X Pro 1s through FW updates.
The high iso files from this body just make me giggle compared to my experience with Illford 3200, not that grain is a bad thing...

Two of my three gripes with the x-e1 fixed in one FW upgrade!
I hope they continue to make all the keys customizable, maybe make the back dial usable for profile switching and the Q button also an option for focusing aid. Options to turn peaking on/off using the Fn button? A man can dream...
