Halfway through the day today I started having some problems with my M2. It might've taken a blow from a battery or a tripod, or a monitor or something, I dunno, I don't think anything bad happened to it, there are no marks etc to indicate some trauma, though I was moving some stuff while it was on my shoulder.

Anyways.. We're about to wrap up shooting for the day and I tried to get an end of the day shot and my camera will not focus.. Infinity is off and when closer things are 'in focus' I know they're not (something 3 meters to me reading 6 meters on my lens for example). Anyways, I come home and try to adjust the eccentric screw and get some improvement, but it's obvious the previous owner used crap screwdrivers (ie almost stripped screw). I get it so infinity is in focus, but now short focus is off, then I got the short focus closer and infinity won't align at all. Anyways, now I can't do anything since the screw is in such a condition that trying to turn it would probably result in damage to the camera, rendering my Leica pretty much dead. Of couse this happens 2 days after I get my Rodinal, and film.. also on day 3 of shooting of 27.

I'm going to have to just send it off to Youxin (I hear he's cheap and good for stuff lik this) but currently have barely enough funds to survive, let alone fix a Leica.

Basically what I'm wondering is why the hell my camera was so easily knocked this far out of calibration for the gain and horizontal sync to be off like this. It'd also be appreciated if there was some kind of 'trick' to be able to fix it despite the screw essentially being stripped.

Anyone happen to know how much a RF calibration costs from repair people? None of the repair people I've looked up have sample quote, and I don't want to bother several people over a repair that might be way out of my price range
