Brian, may I ask you which film under what light did you use to take the pictures of your daughter? I suppose you didn't used any filters or tweak the colors afterwards. I'm still searching for the ideal film and filter combination for low light shots...

Hi Sanders,
An easy way to get a better viewfinder magnification for the 50+ focal lengths is to get one of the megaperl's 1,35x magnifiers for leica Ms. I find that on my ,72 VFs it really helps when I shoot my 50 @ 1,4 to do so with a magnification of ,97 rather than ,72. They are relatively inexpensive and well-made.
