Man oh man would I have a blast
I have to content myself on shooting city smog and catching Con Ed workers repairing man holes .........:D

It's a double edged sword. Talked to some people who have lived in the area all their lives who say they need a January vacation every year somewhere with sunshine or they catch the blues.

You do very well shooting city smog. :)

Fog is cool once in a while but in a place like Whidbey Island, Washington it is the norm and as a photographer I would leave as much as possible in order to find some real contrast in the light. I was stationed there in the Navy from late 2000 to early 2003. One year we had a persistent bank of fog over much of the region which lasted 129 days. This was no-VFR, no-IFR, no flight ops at all fog. Before and after there was still fog but not as heavy. We had to cancel the big airshow on base because no one could fly.

That said, the fog wasn't all bad.
