fogged elmar 2.8

Greetings,
There's quite a bit of fog behind the first element (just in front of the blades). Anyone have success cleaning one of these elmars? My tech says no can do. Looks simple enough. Is that first lens a glued block of glass? I'd like to use this thing, but it's like looking through a glazed donut. Ummmmmmm, donut.

I'm pretty sure the front element is just held in with a retaining ring. You should only need a spanner to remove it.

First element should come out- but i have seen one get stuck, retaining ring refuse to budge.

I've cleaned a 9cm F4 Elmar, same optical layout. Havey haze, came right off.
