how do you take out the battery with the bridge grip on? as you r-d1 owners know, the battery is sort of captured in the r-d1 and takes a little pull to get it out - in other words it doesn't completely drop out when you open the battery door. as a result of this, when the bridge grip is on it's very tough to grab the battery because the grip is in the way. (see pic).
i absolutely love the grip otherwise, it's beautiful and makes the r-d1 a joy to hold. hopefully there's an easy solution i'm missing. i guess i could loosen the grip (it's secured to the tripod mount) and rotate it every time i want to change the battery, but if there's another way let me know!

glad to help.
btw, i have 2 bodies and 2 bridge grips, red and black ones, and neither body has gone out of alignment.
i love those grips, makes holding and shooting much easier, especially when use with a wrist strap.
too bad they were so $$.

Agreed, it's a nice piece but you pay for it. I considered hacking off part of the grip near the battery, but I paid too much to do that it!
