hi everyone,
I have been a member since a few years now and haven't posted for a while. During that time, I moved country from Canada to England. The following set of photos are my 5 years journey in Cambridge/London before coming back to North America. I moved to get to know the girl of my dream and our relationship still continues to this day.
Will try to post 10 photos every post. Comments are welcome. I haven't planned to print it to a book yet but i might make a few copies for family/friends.

Good Stuff! I've been to England and had a great time. Too bad I took the wrong camera, a Canon digital. England is best on film.

I had a boss who started every meeting with a salute to the British Empire. I kid you not. The fact none of his staff were British made it very odd. Anyway I loved Blackpool when we visited and look forward to Oxford this fall.

Enjoy Oxford, strangely despite living near there for decades I've never explored it!

A salute to the British Empire was something I never ever had to do as a child.

Blackpool has been my home for the last 50years .
Going through some tough times at the moment .

Me neither, thank goodness.

The nearest thing we had was all stand up if someone said "Geoffrey Boycott".

Unless you are over a hundred years old, crazy for sure. When did that happen?

About 15 years ago. He was for sure an odd duck, the worst sort of person I ever worked for. During team gatherings he would first make a toast to salute the British Empire. We don't know why and couldn't relate because he was the global head and we his team came from all corners of the world. His secretary told me is his thing to be extremely proud to be British. He did take us to Harry Ramsden. Not sure if that was his idea of love or if he hated all of us. Mushy peas indeed.

I loved Blackpool. I am from the New Jersey Shore so Blackpool was like the Riviera.

Sounds like a total pillock. I can only assume another expatriate Brit, without the challenge of his countrymen, wallowing in being a 'character'.

Never been to Blackpool, I suspect that will remain the case for some time equal to my remaining life span. However, I've watched the Sopranos and been driven on business through New Jersey. The ice cream was really rather good. No chain ever serves good fish and chips.

I am fascinated with Britain at the moment and have been binging on crime dramas for the scenery. Hinterland has some very good shots of Wales. Midsomer Murders features lovely views of English villages. I am just concerned over the high body count! This fall I am escorting my son to Oxford. He will stay there for a year for his masters and I will roam the British Isles looking for photo ops.

If you get to the Westcountry of Devon and Cornwall I'd happily say hello. Just don't read Inspector Morse, if you think Midsomer's bad, the Oxford Colleges are a hecatomb of murderous slaughter, but with nice old Jaguars and the finest of warm beers.

On the whole it's possibly a little more boring and a little less scenic in daily life here.

I haven’t planned the trip yet. If CV-19 hasn’t gone by October...well we will all be screwed anyway. Like my journeys to Europe I will go where the train take me. I don’t like to be burdened with a rental car unless I really know the country.

Everything is changing so rapidly, who knows. But I certainly won't be booking things for some time, if there are any to book.

However, apologies to the OP for the diversions, but lovely photos, very atmospheric and I look forward to the next instalments!

tuanvinh2000, nice to see you posting again, how are you doing?

Thanks bro! finally have a moment to put some retrospectives to my photos in England and what's a better way than showing to our lovely bunch of people here. I think overall compare to the rest of the internet, the folks on RFF are much nicer.

For some reasons i still havent been to Cornwall yet. My gf loved it so i will visit some days. I'm more of a mountain hiking kind of guy so my free time = Snowdonia/Peak/Lake District. Laughed a lot on your reference of Oxford = finest of warm beers. I was in Cambridge and prob very similar. :D

What a great set of pictures. I look forward to the next set.

I have to agree on some of the comments above, never buy fish and chips from a chain, both Oxford and Oxfordshire (where the midsomer series is filmed) are deathtraps for the unwary, visitors in the know always visit the city and the county wearing heavy armour and carrying an axe. If you follow this advice you will be safe.
