Does anyone know if this film is still around? I haven't been able to find any recently, as no one seems to have it in stock ( the 120 size, which is what I've been looking for ).

They had to discontinue the production at least temporarily because some of their main ingredient suppliers went belly up. Maybe RobertV knows more.

Foma has removed this film from their website and I've read message from their distributor on apug.org that it has been discontinued due to unavailability of source materials.

I've got a whole bunch of boxes of it in my fridge (the rebranded Arista EDU Ultra version)... if you've got some PlusX 100 or TriX 400 (or Arista Premium 100 or 400) you wanna trade, send me a PM.

(edit - SORRY! I didn't notice you were looking for 120 size... I only have 35mm)

'twas a great film, very cheap and much better quality than their own 100 and 400 emulsions, admittedly made to a new technology more akin to TMax than TriX. Would be a crying shame to let it disappear.
It could take some great pushing ))

P.S. Sad. Good thing I now have that RD-1.

Thanks for the offer. I already had some 35mm, but I just ordered more from Freestyle.

hmmm, didn't notice it was for 120 either...I tossed my last Foma200 rolls because I could not make them work. They came out so dark for some reason and the sticker kept jamming my Rollei that I could not use them anymore. I do still have Foma100 rolls though, I could mail them to you if you wanted.

I talked to them about the sicker and they're sending me the new rolls with new stickers that are supposed to not jam my Rollei. Let's see how it works. Nice people. I'm happy to give them my money.

Foma200 was a mix between old and new emulsion, literally. Great stuff in 135 + rodinal.

This is what I read from the site of one of the Foma retailers in UK (ag-photographic.co.uk). If this is correct information maybe everything is not lost after all.

"[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]NEWS: Fomapan 200 is currently unavailable because Foma have had to re-formulate the emulsion recipie. One of the ingredients became unavailable from their supplier and they had to track it down from an alternative source. As a result they have had to re-test the emulsion - this is now ongoing and we expect further supplies in February or March. Customers wishing to pre-order should email us."

great film but with horrid QC I tried 120 and 35mm a year apart from different batches and both had emulsion defects. No such probs with the 100 thus far...

Fomapan Creatve 200 production has to be ceased due to the lack of an important material comming from one of the Foma suppliers.
Tests with a replacement material was unsuccessful so far. At this moment it's unknown if there is any change to reformulate the film or that this film will be obselete.

best regards,

Robert
