Hi, I've bought some of the Arista Edu Ultra film from Freestyle Photo, and I understand it to be private-label Fomapan (I got it in 100 and 400 speeds). Would anyone have any suggestion for development times in Rodinal or Xtol?

Thanks! I've searched on Digitaltruth, but the information is rather skimpy.

If it is packaged anything like the older Arista Edu film the box each roll comes packaged in, will have printed developing instructions printed on the inside for popular developers. You have to slice the box open and flatten it out and there is a chart. Hope the new film has it!

You might also try the Freestyle website. As they probably have developing instructions online.

I did check, they have instructions for straight Xtol and 1+25 Rodinal, which would give me like 2 minute immersion times at 30°C. ;)

Anyone have experience with Fomapan 100 in 1+50 (or even 1+100) Rodinal?

There is an internet resource called "The Massive Developer Chart" I do not know the URL, but if you succeed in getting to the site, it should have the info you wish.

Fomapan at EI 80, Rodinal 1+50 for 9:30 min. (20°C/68°F, 30 sec. constant, then 2 inversions at the beginning of every minute) is one of my preferred combos.

phototone,
The MDC is at www.digitaltruth.com, whicht Justin was already referring to in his post!

In my experience Fomapan 400 sensitivity was closer to 250-300, but that may depend on particular batch.

Not sure what you mean by 'skimpy' information on the digitaltruth web site. It gives you dilutions, times and temperatures for both Xtol and Rodinal. What else are you looking for?

I assume that part of your problem is the water temperature, her ein the summer temperatures get very high.

I've found that Fomapan 100 EI80 in Rodinal 1+100 13 minutes at 80F worked for me.

Yep, 250 to 320 at most, in a developer that gives good film speed, in Rodinal I would not use an EI above 200.
Fomapan 400 is not that special, there are better alternatives, but the 100 version is quite good as an inexpensive 'APX100 lookalike'.

I like the Foma 100 very much, from the results I got from my first roll. Roman, your suggestion was very good indeed. I applied a formula to adjust the times for 30°C, and developed in Rodinal for 4m30 with 4 inversions over 10s every minute. EI 100 for me, by the way.

I found the density of the negatives to be typical for decent prints (in my experience), and they scan very well too.

I've attached some scans. They are pretty much untouched.
