Food for thought? Maybe, possibly. BUT...

from the arsenal thread...

from magus..

I posted a threat from the "Head Bartender" in the guise of a PM sent to me to either leave RFF or stop posting about Arsenal in the way I have (saying I'll piss on their door).

It was deleted ex-USSR style.

I responded that I am immune to threats, and asked that all my posts be deleted.

That was deleted too.

So delete me, end of story.

Screenshots available to those who are interested.

Best, especially to my "friends", it's been a good time.

All good things must come to an end, it seems.

And Mr. Ferider indulging in defamation.

No defamation, I stand to what I wrote. Here is the post in question:

My post was not related to you being banned, IMO.

No plural in my use of the English language. Your name was published
and used at Nikonians.org. Here:

Let us exchange logistic information if you want to pursue the matter
legally. This is all I have to say for now.

Sincerely,

Roland.

i have a fight with no one on this. just trying to present the facts as i see them.
i also like magus and sincerely did not want to see him leave, that's why i sent him a messege asking him to reconsider but he chose not to.
i respect him enough to treat him like an adult and gave him what he asked for.

I try not to post in some threads, ie: the famous Photo-arsennal thread...Magus made clear his feelings toward the establishment. More than once I would like to add although I missed the famous deleted post.

I believe we were all aware of Magus's feeling by the time he posted his 5th reply.

FAIL!
Slander is spoken, In text/print/or elextronic broadcast is LIBEL.
If you inaccurately charge someone, regardless of how much evidence exists for or against the true nature of the wrong doing, it will be quickly dismissed in any court.

So Joe, you're saying that Magus asked to be deleted, but then Magus/Wolfgang is seeking opinions about whether it was fair of Stephen to ban him - which didn't in fact happen? I'm no lawyer, and I'm usually not pessimistic, but I'd say the legal proceedings have little hope.

both.
magus asked to be deleted, and it was actually me who banned him on stephen's request.
so, in fact, they both got what they wanted.

oh man this is great last week of summer entertainment. i think i shall always recall this as "the saga of Wolfgang Magus." there's a robert service ballad in this tale🙂

If I might just jump in without getting my feet too muddy- I do and will miss Magus. I've been shooting a lot of the Fuji 1600 film after his recommendation, and getting some stuff I like. Like many here I don't have a gallery on RFF, I come her mainly for the technical stuff, and to learn. Since I find the digitization of my work a real PITA, and find images seen on the screen lacking in comparison to actual prints (think scale here) I won't likely post a lot of images. Should this discount my opinions and knowledge? I feel free to express my opinion, and expect that others will do the same. I disagree with some and agree with others- same as those with whom I discuss photography in person, and wouldn't berate another for their opinion. Honesty is the best policy goes that old saying, and honesty can seem blunt sometimes.

Best wishes Magus- here's hoping we get a chance one day to sit down and look at some prints- cocktails, red crayons and Leicas in hand.

Any news on where he is going? I liked the guy and would be interested in still reading his posts. I have no problem with RFF or anything else, but I figure I would like to continue reading his posts. If anyone knows where he posts and under what moniker, I would appreciate knowing...

Thanks.

I came in right at the end and saw something very important.

Joe, my condolences. It is always difficult to see our companions pass away. There is a pain in the emptiness they leave, which is tempered by the gratitude that they could share their life with you.
